Forecastings
The ‘Forecastings’ series of painting are based on predictive weather/ temperature reports for various cities taken from the internet. The source data is plotted accurately, but somewhat de-contextualised, emphasising the painting’s relationship to formalist abstraction.
Continuing on an interest in statistics & information filtered through the language of abstraction; these new paintings attempt to explore the Neo-Geo style social potential of geometric abstract painting through found predictive information.
